The Journal of Curriculum Studies Research (JCSR) publishes all its contents in full open access, meaning free, immediate and unlimited use and reuse of articles. All our articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0).
To cover the cost of providing a high-quality publishing service and free access to readers, authors of manuscripts accepted to JCSR shall pay a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC). As of January 1, 2024, ACP will be 950 USD (For articles submitted before that date, APC will be applied as 400 USD). There is no charge for rejected articles, and no surcharge based on the length or type of the article, figures, or supplementary data. Editorial items (Editorials, Corrections, Additions, Retractions, Letters, Comments, etc.) are published free of charge.
The authors do not pay any fee when submitting their manuscript. APC is payable only if a manuscript is accepted for publication trough peer-review process. Upon editorial acceptance of an article, an invoice and the payment method information will be sent to the corresponding author.
Fast Track Option
JCSR offers an optional fast review and publication service, called Fast Track Option. Authors can request Fast Track Option when submitting their manuscript. Fast track review does not guarantee acceptance of the manuscript. For more information about Fast Track Option conditions and charges, please contact to the Editor-in-Chief.
Waivers and Discounts
To support researchers in low-income countries, JCSR offers APC waivers or discounts for manuscripts based on the authors’ affiliation. We provide full waivers (100% discount of the APC) for authors based in countries classified by the World Bank as low-income economies. The criteria that need to be fulfilled in order to be eligible for a full waiver are:
• All authors on the paper must be located in one of the low-income countries listed below.
• The research is unfunded and/or there is not funding available to support publication of the research.
An author’s eligibility for waiver will not affect peer review or editorial decision-making. Please note that a full waiver is not automatically applied. Please request your waiver when submitting your manuscript.

Discounts will be applied on a case-by-case basis. If you are not eligible for a full waiver described above, but have difficulty to pay the APC for your article, please contact the Editor-in-Chief to request a discount. Please request your discount at the point of submission.
